Aidan Crotty- new online course

We are delighted to launch a new online course 'Mapping and painting the everyday in oils' by Aidan Crotty. Aidan has won many distinguished awards including the 2020 Zurich Portrait Prize, and has a long and established painting practice focused on 'conveying the physical presence of the everyday through painting'.

This course provides a framework for artists who are looking to find a new tension in their own work between experimental mark making and controlled carefully observed painting. A common thread throughout the course is its emphasis on the importance of creating an accurate drawing as the basis for a successful painting and an anchor for exploring non-conventional ways to create textures and improvised passages of paint.

This course includes a number of painting and drawing demonstrations as well as instructional content and opportunities to upload your work to get direct feedback from Aidan. You can also set your goals for the course and upload examples of your current work to get even more personalised feedback based on your own style and direction.
